The Story Behind Hammam Zait

Hammam Zait (pronounced hah-mam zayt) translates to “oil bath” in Arabic. Traditionally, Hammam Zait refers to a hot oil treatment—a deeply rooted hair care ritual across the Middle East and North Africa. For centuries, it involved massaging a blend of warm oils into the scalp and hair, followed by steam to restore strength, shine, and hydration.

In recent decades, cream-based, oil-infused treatment masks have emerged as a modern take on this tradition. While traveling, I tried several Hammam Zait treatment masks, only to find that their formulations didn’t meet my standards. I wanted a mask with the highest percentage of natural oils, blended into a creamy base made with safe, effective ingredients.

At NA'EEMAN, we created what we couldn’t find: a safe, effective Hammam Zait treatment mask that deeply conditions, hydrates, and renews while honoring the rich cultural heritage of the Arab world.
