ABOUT US

Na’eeman & It’s Cultural Significance

In Arabic, Na’eeman [nah-ee-mahn] is a term that embodies renewal, cleanliness, and well-being. It is traditionally used to acknowledge someone after they’ve enjoyed the experience of self-care, whether it’s a fresh haircut, shower, or grooming routine. It’s a thoughtful way to say, “I hope you enjoyed feeling refreshed and renewed“

Rooted in these cultural values, Na’eeman reflects a lasting appreciation for wellness that we bring to every aspect of our brand. Our products are crafted to give you that same feeling of renewal and self-care, honoring both tradition and quality.

The Journey to Na’eeman

“After experiencing a severe reaction to a mainstream hair product, I lost the joy I once found in my self-care routine. Instead of feeling refreshed, I felt anxious and hesitant, unsure about trying anything new.

Determined to find a better way, I spent countless hours learning about ingredients and safer alternatives, especially plant oils and plant-derived remedies my culture has always turned to for beauty and care. These traditional oils are at the heart of Middle Eastern beauty rituals I grew up with. Yet, I couldn’t find anything that felt truly safe, effective, or culturally inspired – until the creation of Na’eeman.“

Personal and Fair-Trade Mission

As a Palestinian-American, I wanted to create a brand that not only honors my heritage but also gives back to the community. That’s why Na’eeman features fair-trade Palestinian olive oil, sourced from Canaan, a company founded by Palestinians near the West Bank town of Jenin. Canaan’s mission is to uplift the economic well-being of olive farmers in the West Bank through fair-trade practices, helping communities thrive despite immense challenges. Historically, exporting Palestine’s high-quality olive oil has been nearly impossible due to their landlocked situation and the challenges imposed by the illegal occupation.
